*Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council is the host site for Literacy AmeriCorps, and played a very important role in the production of both episodes. GPLC's GED prep and adult basic education are featured in Episode 1, and GPLC's Families for Learning (located in Northview Heights, on Pittsburgh's North Side) is featured in Episode 2.

*Mission Statement

The Mission of the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council is to ensure that youths and adults have basic reading, writing, and math skills so that they may reach their fullest potential in life and participate productively in their community. This is done by (1) direct instruction of youths and adult learners and by (2) providing leadership and resources to other agencies to maximize the effectiveness of all people who address this problem.
